Linladan - Owl 6347 - Swedish Embroidery Kit 2
The Swedish embroidery company Nordiska/NIAB was founded in 1879 and designed patterns for over 100 years. Their Archive was recently unearthed to reveal thousands of embroidery patterns for all seasons.
Owl 6347 was originally printed on coloured linen or silk, and was intended that it would be made into a cushion. The linen fabric here has been screen printed by hand in Sweden not far from the archive, the linen thread is dyed by a master dyer who learned the trade as a young man.
The card shows part of the original pattern drawings made prior to production of the kits. We are searching for the original chart that came with each kit in the 60's and hope to find it one day.
A little improvising of stitches and thread colour placement is needed and encouraged to complete this kit.
