My Community

My Community is Louise’s latest quilt and is inspired by her love of Melbourne (a city that experienced 6 COVID lockdowns), and what she truly appreciated about it over the last few years. This quilt reflects how “her community” came together during a difficult time and features blocks inspired by healthcare workers, tradies, the local pub, the corner florist, a dog, the council swimming pool, even the 24/7 service station, and many more.

Louise hand pieced this quilt using acrylic templates and has written the instructions to reflect this. However, there are some simple shapes included where she has provided measurements for rotary cutting.

Of course, you can choose to machine piece this quilt if you so desire.

Things you need to know:

This is a “limited offer” bi-monthly program with 6 mail-outs, beginning in August 2022.
Mail out 1 includes all the background fabric (to avoid any dye lot issues) plus additional materials to make the blocks for this period.
Subsequent mail-outs will occur in October, December, February, April, and June.
Depending on your signup option, programs will include:

Full instructions and printed templates
Acrylic templates.
and/or
Enough fabric to complete the corresponding blocks + extra for further elements in the quilt. Fabrics will include Art Gallery, Yuwa, Free Spirit, Sevenberry, Moda, Robert Kaufman... the list goes on! Nothing will be excluded if it's perfect for the program.

Program costs are as follows:

Australian customers:
- Fabric, Pattern, and Templates:
  - AU$160 for mail-out 1.
  - AU$85 for each of mail-outs 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
  - The average cost per month over 12-months is A$49
- Pattern and Templates ONLY:
  - AU$54 per mail-out.
  - The average cost per month over 12-months is A$27
International customers:
- Fabric, Pattern, and Templates:
  - AU$162 for mail-out 1.
  - AU$90 for each of mail-outs 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
  - The average cost per month over 12-months is A$51
- Pattern and Templates ONLY:
  - AU$58 per mail-out.
  - The average cost per month over 12-months is A$29
