Instructor Bio:
Some time ago Sue studied Studio Textiles at what is now RMIT. She worked part-time
as an art teacher for many years. She also worked as a consultant for art teachers,
and has run textile workshops for groups of both teachers and students.
She is a maker/practising artist. In her exhibition work she mainly focuses on using
Shibori techniques to dye fabrics.
Different sorts of art interests Sue, and she likes to dabble and experiment. She makes all
kinds of things- cards and toys and she really enjoys printing and using a knitting machine.
Nature and resilience are themes Sue keeps returning to because it is there that she
finds inspiration.
In her workshops she teaches skills that each participant can use to work creatively.
When we create something by hand a little piece of us becomes part of it. That?s
what makes it special.
