Winter Felt Gnome Workshop with Sandie O'Brien - Saturday 12th June
The class is designed to focus on the mindfulness process of creating whimsical fairy tale characters, lovingly stitched together.
You will start with a basic design for the first one and then learn about how to get a bit more creative with adding simple slow stitched details to the gnomes and making different shaped hats and capes.
The class fee includes all the materials you will need to make 4 gnomes, including unique hand dyed 100% pure new wool felt, 4 x quality wooden doll bases, embroidery needle and cotton thread.

We will learn some simple stitches for beginners starting a sewing journey and for accomplished sewers the pleasure of learning a new craft.

Sandie describes herself as a felty, whimsical textile artist, teacher, story teller in felt, and traveler.
She has a love of the whimsical world of fairies, elves and gnomes, and all things arty, crafty and creative. Sandie fell in love with European and Scandinavian style craft, especially those inspired by Steiner and Waldorf natural play and toy making. A journey of colour and natural fibres - Making, creating, sewing, drawing and living in a rich tapestry life of imagination filled my being.
Her specialty has become making small dolls and felt houses hand dyeing her own 100% Pure New Wool Felt and other natural fibres for use in her creations.
These days you will find her sitting happily sewing in her studio in Warranwood or out travelling in her teardrop caravan, glamping at a river or by the ocean, sewing with natural fibres, beautiful colours and textures she uses in her creations.
Sandie's love of making little sets and calling them stories has become her signature, the love and devotion of each creation made shines out and brings joy to all ages.
