Jo is the creator and owner of Frankie & Ray, a little business that began life as a
vehicle for Jo's handmade clothing designs sold at design markets, small independent
stores, and online.
Jo learned to knit when very young, taught by her German born Oma (grandmother),
who passed on the 'picking' technique, sometimes known as the European or
Continental knitting style. This technique has the yarn held in the left hand, which never
leaves the needle to create both knit and purl stitches, resulting in a quick and efficient
way to grow your knitting.
Jo hopes to pass on the pleasure of the meditative and mindful process that knitting is.
The enjoyment is amplified by the satisfaction of creating many useful and beautiful
hand knit garments, for yourself, or as an expression of love for others, whether they be
shawls, socks, scarves, beanies, jumpers, cardigans, or even objects for the home, like
a tea cozy or blanket.
