In this 1.5 day workshop, Anna Maria will guide participants through any one of several variations to her Plot Twist quilt.  The structure of this design employs simple patchwork but a clever sequence of building blooms that invites variety and interest and is very easy to scale larger or smaller.  As the focus is on the applique, Anna Maria will share a few different approaches and considerations when preparing shapes for machine applique as well as hand applique.

Techniques taught include: Fabric selection, improvisational applique, needle turn applique by hand, raw edge applique by machine, curved bias strip preparation, Mylar and Acrylic template demos for cutting and pressing applique, compositional planning and layout.
