Sashiko Workshop with Hitomi Fujita

Join Hitomi from QH Textiles as she shares her knowledge of the beautiful art form of Sashiko Stitching.  Sashiko, or "little stabs"  is a simple running stitch used to decoratively reinforce areas of wear and repair in Japanese traditional sewing.  Stitches are arranged in pattern to create marvellous effect.  Sashiko has seen a huge renaissance in recent years and is often used as a feature in embroidered works.  Hitomi will be providing kits to all participants and have many pieces to display.  A wonderful class to tap into a new skill!
