AM044: The Art of Slow Stitching - Exploring Themes with Lisa Mattock

In this slow stitching workshop, Lisa draws inspiration from her years as a florist showing participants how to work with themes to create beautiful textile wreaths. Have your own theme in mind?  Lisa will guide you through how to convey this through colour selection, texture and arrangement.   Participants will be shown how to layer fabric and use a simple stab stitch to hold them it all together in order to create a collaged background.  Participants can then transform these using embellishments of cut cloth, lace trims, buttons and embroidery.

Participants will receive a specially chosen selection of reclaimed textiles, threads and embellishments collected by Lisa over her years of hunting.

Requirements: General hand sewing supplies; needles, threads, scissors, unpicker.   Any trims, lace, scraps or beautiful fabrics to feature in your collages.

Participants receive 10% discount on in store purchases on the day of your class.
