AM028: Totes Amazeballs with Angie Wilson from GnomeAngel



In this class, participants will work on one of the projects from Angie's book, 'Fussy Cutters Club'.  They will learn techniques for fussy cutting in improvisational patchwork and leave with their own, one of a kind tote bag.

Angie will discuss improvisational construction and how to fussy cut motifs. The class will also cover basic walking foot quilting and how to make a tote bag.

Bring to class:
-Sewing Machine and manual (just in case)
-Walking Foot
-Jeans Sewing machine needs
-Basic Sewing supplies (rotary cutter, ruler, cutting mat, seam ripper, fabric pen, cotton thread, scissors, spare machine needles)

-Fabric requirements:
Assorted fussy cut fabrics totalling 1 yard
1/4 year 55"-60" wide vinyl (alternatively students might like to use canvas) for the bottom of the tote
1 1/3 yard fabric lining
3/4 yard backing (Can use flannel for added bag strength) o 3⁄4 yard Batting/Wadding
1⁄4 yard fabric (Handles)
1 1⁄2 yard, at least 30” wide Medium Weight Interfacing

 

Requirements:
Sewing Machine: You will be required to bring along your own sewing machine. As each machine is different, participants must have a good working knowledge of their own machine. If you have a new machine we highly recommend taking a short class from your supplier on the basic operations of your machine prior to class.
